Steven J. Gerndt, MD
Steve is a speaker, leadership mentor and align advisor who retired from a 30 year career as a Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeon. As part of Bellin Health of Green Bay, WI, he served many leadership roles, most recently through a six year commitment as V.P, President and post-President of the medical staff. In an effort to impart durable influence on the organization, he developed the concept “Civilitas” which proved to be a system wide cultural transformation focused on psychological safety and the fostering of leadership by example. He is passionate about helping organizations and teams demonstrate value to their members in a meaningful way.
Steve has extensive experience helping people navigate personal crisis through counseling, affirmation and of course, surgical intervention. He has proven to be an excellent communicator who allows those in crisis to be heard, while explaining their options in ways they can easily understand.
He is a board member and active leader in Centershot, a non-profit leadership development organization that uses the sport of archery to engage individuals, help them better understand their identity and succeed in life’s endeavors. This organization has a special emphasis on service to first responders and our nation’s young adults.
Steve considers his most significant role to be husband, father and grandfather. With his wife Mary, of 35 years, he has a daughter and two sons and they recently were blessed with their first granddaughter.
